‘INlighten’ – ready to view. London Festival of Architecture

admin Anise Gallery, Events

Our film ‘INlighten’, created for this year’s London Festival of Architecture, is now ready to view.

This short 3 minute film, produced by AVR London in association with Anise Gallery, reveals small, awkward spaces between existing buildings and highlights them to reveal the usability and enormity of unused spaces in London. Why? The country is in the grip of a housing shortage and soaring rents, poor conditions and rising homelessness are the end result. We draw attention to the forgotten spaces in the midst of the city, allowing people to see potential from a different perspective, and imagine how these spaces could be utilised. We don’t provide a solution, but shed light on a subject that is hugely topical within the community, through the use of abstract installation.

The film was first broadcast to the public on Saturday 4 June. We held a screening along with an accompanying exhibition at Anise Gallery attended by festival go-ers, friends and family.

The film was a true collaboration, with many of our 3D artists, animators, photographers and our graphic designer putting in the time for evening shoots and editing. Apologies to those we kept awake with late night loud generators, bright lights and moving furniture, but we hope you agree it was worth it!

London Festival of Architecture runs from 1 – 30 June.
